Today’s kids deserve that same magic, but are they getting it? What stories do you think our (current or future)children need? Let's talk in the chat (something important may be in there too hehe)!
I agree 1000%. I think that the actors now are awesome, just like the ones I had as a teenager. They deserve more traction, and omg, the way I wish more people would tune into these shows (so many good shows get cancelled, and it sucks, but that's a tale too common). I just wish there were more shows like good shows. Plus, teens crushing on teens or kids having crushes on actors on Disney and Nickelodeon is far from a clinically diagnosed illness; it's honest and a real feeling. Now I do think they should be protected because of how actors, child actors specifically, have been treated in the past. For the teen shows, I just wish there were more shows with different niches. Thank you for telling me what you think and informing me more Moxie, I appreciate you!
Thank you Kyra, I'm so glad you liked it! I'm still learning how to do the newsletters/advice column but, I'm definetly down to do it for y'all! Thanks again so so so much for reading I appreciate it a billion! Have an amazing day!
Omg yessss!!! The holiday specials and cameos were so iconic! It’s so sad all of this has been disappearing slowly, I feel like these shows did actually raise us up as you said. Now everything is fast paced, flashy, too adulty. I loved this article sm <3
Thank you so much, Rebecca! The fact that the holiday specials and cameos make me sad in itself, oh, how I wish! I hope we get those back eventually, and Disney/Nick comes back with a lot of successful shows so we can get that back. Thank you again, sweetie!
I know!!!! I’ve seen plenty videos of parents that are showing their kids “old” Disney movies and shows instead of the modern ones and they say their kids are much more relaxed now. Makes you think huh! We need to bring the early 2000’s shows energy back!!
I have too! I think the older shows, movies, and cartoons are more gentle and lighthearted compared to anything and something in their face. We need that energy plus, I think that's why so many shows get cancelled, because nothing sticks like it used to. And by stick, I mean stick so much so that kids remember it, like I want my kids to have that. Ooooo and DCOMs!
as a teenager currently growing up in the 2020s, there is this specific faction of hollywood that could potentially be the successor to the way the 2000s and the 2010s had media specially made for tweens and teens and that would be shows like the baby-sitter's club, american born chinese, avatar: the last airbender (the live-action version on netflix), the percy jackson series on disney+, and even julie and the phantoms which was unfortunately cancelled, with young actors like mckenna grace, walker scobell, malachi barton, ariana greenblatt, malia baker, kylie cantrall, dior goodjohn, momona tamada, xochitl gomez, aryan simhardi, etc. being our version of disney channel stars, however I just think it's a bit more niche and I kinda wish people gave it more attention, there's also something about the behavior of fans of these specific actors that I must critique and that is the way they pathologize 14-year-old girls for saying "my man" or "he's so fine" about an actor their age and like yeah, I think it's important to protect child actors from being sexualized, but we shouldn't be pathologizing a normal part of growing up and treating a universal experience as if it were some clinically diagnosed illness.
I respect this. I have three boys and I want them to watch cartoons and have fun. Learn how to be themselves instead of being engulfed or bombarded with corporal shows from creators looking for cash grab and not putting any heart into the content they create.

Right? I want the media my future kids to be genuine, real, and help tackle situations. Like television that also kids are excited to see, I miss it!
Exactly that!! The cartoon in the 90s were the peak for those specific cartoons, at least that's how I feel anyways ☪️🖤
90s/2000s were the peak for cartoons for sure! I get it wholeheartedly, I miss those times!
